A friend of mine recently told me, “I never noticed any difference between the different levels of self-awareness before.” He’s right. We often don’t pay attention to our actions because we’ve become so used to them that we forget that we’re just doing what we’re doing.
We tend to forget about our actions because we have become so used to them that we have no idea why they are important. I think this is why the majority of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot.
This can be a very serious problem. If we do not become aware of our actions, then we are unaware of many of the things that really matter. For example, what I am currently reading about the potential effects of a global pandemic on our society is a very serious issue.
A good example of this is one of the most important books I’ve ever read. It was The 21st Century Bible by John Dominic Crossan, and it discusses how our society will change in the 21st century. This book is not a good one to read at the start of a pandemic because it focuses on a very small number of people. The general population of the world is still mostly unaware of the potential effects of a pandemic.
There are a few studies out there that talk about the potential for a pandemic to occur, but they are often not done because people are using the term ‘global’ or ‘global pandemic’, and there are very few studies on how global or global pandens affect any of the societies that are affected.
We’ve been looking at outbreaks of dengue fever, which has killed hundreds of thousands of people worldwide and is making it into the headlines like never before. It would be very hard for us to say that our society will be spared from them, but it is likely that we won’t be able to avoid them entirely either.
It’s a very real possibility that we’ll get hit with a global pandemic that will kill more people than HIV or Ebola ever did. Like dengue fever, it’s not just a disease that kills around 20,000 people in the US each year. Its a disease that kills people that are either the victims of other diseases (like dengue fever) or just have a bad day.
It’s almost like we’re stuck in a time loop ourselves, watching main character Colt slay his way through semi-familiar areas in new ways.
