Letterkenny has been a part of the Ontario Hockey League since 1968. The town is in Southern Ontario, about an hour north of London and two hours east from Toronto. The team first started out as the Letterkenny Borderers, then changed to the Letterkenny Black Hawks when they were sponsored by local auto dealership Maple Leaf Motors Ltd (also known as “Maple Leafs”).
