Best Song Of All Time: Thriller by Michael Jackson, 1982

This is the song that started it all. The rollercoaster of a beat and classic vocals made this tune an instant favorite for people worldwide. It was also MJ’s best selling single ever at over 100 million records sold! Makes you wonder what John Lennon would have said if he heard “Beat It” in 1972? Probably something like “What do I know, man?” or “You’re wrong.” But seriously, could we give up our obsession with MJ yet? We hope not because there are more great MJ tunes to come on these lists. Besides..it IS the King of Pop after all! And now let’s proceed to the next song on our list of best parts:

“Don’t Stop Believin'” by Journey, 1981. And it’s every bit as classic and incredible as you’ve been told! It was a critical part in inspiring people all over the world to never give up their dreams or anything else that they love doing. In fact, if we could put together a Mount Rushmore for rock songs “Don’t Stop Believin'” would be right there among some of the gods like Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones and Queen..just saying! We’ll move on now with this blog post about another great hit from back in ’81 but first let’s take a look at #85 (okay?!) “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor, 1982. It was a song that many people didn’t think would do well because it sounded more like an oldies tune than something from today but as we all know, this one went on to win the Grammy for “Best Rock Vocal Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals.” And then in 1984 they won an Academy Award for Best Original Song Score! This is not surprising considering how good their music is and some may even say that if there’s ever been another band who could have done justice to Rocky Balboa’s theme, its them. We’ll end with #88 now (okay?).

MJ tunes: “Don’t Stop

This is a blog post about how the lyrics of best part songs can be used to stay sane, make friends and have fun. They’re also great for making enemies! Which we all need from time to time. But it’s nice when you can find an enemy that isn’t so bad after all. I’m not going to tell you which ones are my favorite because I know you’ll just go and buy them up before anyone else has the chance if I do.”   “Do with this information as you will,” she said, handing me her business card while shaking hands enthusiastically (with both our left hands). Drake tunes: “No New Friends”

This is a blog post about how Drake’s lyrics of best part songs can be used to stay sane in this day and age while also making new friends or staying ahead of the game with old ones.

It seems like everyone these days has stopped trying to make new friends because they’re too busy trying to keep up with all their old ones via social media (which I don’t get). All the more reason for us to start being inclusive again! And that means you need Drake on your playlist – he’s got some great life lessons. This is a list of my favorite Drake tunes to teach you a thing or two about how important it is to take time for yourself and be honest with those around, whether they’re new friends or old ones. “No New Friends” – This song has some great lines like “You got a friend in me,” referring to the importance of staying close with your besties instead of always trying to make more because that’s just not healthy when we already have so many people in our lives. He also talks about keeping his crew safe from harm by using the hashtag #NFG (Never Forget Gang) which really speaks volumes!
